Healthcare

Healthcare is a major problem in many countries. Not only do many children die each year from curable diseases, but many are left crippled as well. The WCO is determined to put a stop to the unspeakable health horrors that many children have to face. No child deserves to die for the sake of a few dollars.

At the WCO, we are committed to helping to improve child health and awareness in countries such as Nepal, Vietnam, Cambodia, and the Philippines, to name but a few.

Diseases such as diarrhoea and cholera can be lethal to children who are subjected to unhealthy living conditions and contaminated water sources. That’s why the WCO campaigns to bring fresh water wells and medical supplies to as many communities as we can – especially to remote communities, as this is where these problems are intensified.

We work hard to provide not only the basic medical kits to communities, but other medical aid as well. For example, one of the most important campaigns we are involved in is providing healthcare to new mothers and newborn babies, including delivery assistance and nutritional and health needs.

There is a huge lack of immunisations in many poor countries, and the WCO also campaigns to improve this aspect of poverty. By providing finances and aid whenever we can, we hope to alleviate illnesses and help to bring up the overall immunisation rates in underdeveloped countries.

Another important aspect of healthcare is nutritional food and clean drinking water. At the WCO we aim to provide food and water to every child we can reach. By doing this, we help children to grow and flourish, and can hopefully cut the malnutrition figures in the world by half.

Every child deserves a healthy childhood, and the children in poverty or war ridden countries deserve no less. They should be free to grow up in an environment that is safe, free from diseases, and conducive to a healthy lifestyle.
