WCO Frequently Asked Questions

Q1. What does WCO stand for?

A1. The World Children Organisation

Q2. Who founded the WCO and when?

A2. The WCO was founded in 2002 by Andrew and Patrick Hsu.

Q3. What belief was the WCO founded on?

A3. The WCO was established on the belief that all children are created equal, and therefore all children should be entitled to education, shelter, nutritional food, medical services, and safety from abuse. They also believe that all children should be protected from the devastation of war and should be given the right to freely express their opinions.

Q4. What is the WCO’s mission?

A4. The WCO is committed to providing education and healthcare to children in poverty stricken countries around the world. Their aim is to reach into the hearts and lives of children in need, and help them to build a better future.

Q5. What does the WCO do?

A5. The WCO provides educational materials to some of the most desperate and needy children in the world. They work tirelessly to provide education in the remotest regions of the planet, and are dedicated to helping as many children as they can. They promote awareness of poverty, neglect, and abuse, and aim to tackle these issues head on, by running various projects designed to facilitate education and medical needs in various communities.

Q6. What sort of educational materials does the WCO use?

A6. The WCO uses a wide variety of educational materials, including a series of books entitled “My First Books”. These progressive and specially constructed children’s books are designed to help children with their literacy skills. They also help to show children how to link their experiences in learning to their real life. This is a vital aspect of the WCO’s work, as without proper education many children don’t stand a chance in life.

Q7. How can I help the WCO?

A7. There are many different ways you can help the WCO. But remember, it’s not just the WCO you are helping; it’s thousands of children around the world - each one as special and individual as the ones you know in your own life.

If you are an individual, you can help by donating your money or time to the WCO, or by spreading awareness of these critical child issues. Awareness is imperative to solving the issues of child harm and poverty.

If you work with underprivileged children you could contact us about receiving our free educational materials, and enquire about helping with the various projects we run. You will find our contact details in the “Contact Us” section of the website.

But most of all, you can help us by caring; by showing the world that these issues really do matter, and that you (along with us) are determined to give these children a better life. By opening your heart to these children, you give them the hope they so desperately need.

We encourage you to send us your questions and we will post the most popular ones and their answers in our FAQ section; so make sure to check back on a regular basis! Send all enquiries to: insert email address or an online submission form.
